The Salesforce Summer ‘26 release is here, and it's a significant one! There is a strong focus on AI-powered automation, enhanced service capabilities, deeper Slack integration, and platform security improvements, all aimed at improving how organisations build, manage, and secure their Salesforce environments. Depending on your instance, you'll be upgraded on one of the following dates:

  • June 5, 2026
  • June 12, 2026
  • June 13, 2026

If you want to find out exactly which weekend your Salesforce instance will be upgraded, head over to Salesforce Trust and click on ‘Maintenance.’ You’ll need to know which instance your org is running on, so to find out, go to your Setup menu and click on Company Information.

If you’d like a full run-through of the release, check out this Salesforce Help article for the breakdown.

Manage Files up to 10 GB in Salesforce Files

Salesforce Summer ’26 increases the maximum file upload size in Salesforce Files from 2 GB to 10 GB in Lightning Experience. This applies to Files home, libraries, and record Files related lists.

This update gives organisations more flexibility when working with larger files directly in Salesforce, particularly for document-heavy or media-rich processes. However, the increased limit does not apply to Chatter uploads or LWR Experience Cloud sites.

Scan Files for Malware (Beta)

Salesforce Summer ’26 introduces malware scanning for files uploaded to Salesforce Files, helping improve file security across supported orgs hosted on Hyperforce. Most files are scanned when uploaded, while existing files are scanned when downloaded. This functionality is currently being rolled out as a beta feature.

We selected this as a highlight because it reflects Salesforce’s continued focus on platform security and safer file management within the Salesforce environment.

Salesforce for Slack Integrations

The integration between Salesforce and Slack continues to expand, with updates across multiple Salesforce products that bring CRM functionality directly into team conversations and workflows.
Updates include enhancements across:

  • Sales Cloud for Slack
  • Service Cloud for Slack
  • PRM for Slack
  • CRM Analytics for Slack
  • Financial Services Cloud for Slack
  • Trailhead Slack App

These improvements help teams collaborate on Salesforce data without needing to switch between systems.
This update reflects Salesforce’s continued focus on positioning Slack as a core collaboration layer across its product ecosystem.

The New Agentforce Builder Is Now Generally Available

The new Agentforce Builder in Salesforce Summer ’26 release is now generally available and makes it easier to build AI agents using Agentforce Studio.

It allows you to create AI agents using simple instructions combined with logic, helping them follow structured, multi-step workflows.

It also includes built-in tools to test, preview, and debug agents before they go live, making it easier to refine agents before deployment.

This is one of the highlights of the Salesforce Summer ’26 release because it makes AI agent creation more accessible and practical for everyday users, not just developers or technical teams.

Achieve Near Perfect SLA Compliance with Agentic Milestones (Beta)

The Salesforce Summer ’26 release introduces Agentic Milestones in Salesforce (beta), allowing AI agents to help manage routine SLA-related communications for service cases.

It enables Agentforce to automatically draft and send customer updates, such as first responses and progress updates, based on case resolution status. This helps keep customers informed throughout the support process while reducing repetitive work for service teams. This is a notable addition in the Salesforce Summer ’26 release because it reduces manual effort in SLA communications while keeping customers consistently updated during case resolution.
